In the German chemical and industrial sectors, handling oversized containers requires more than just standard automation; it demands robust mechanical engineering and seamless data integration. SKYONE recently delivered a specialized "Single-Side Labeling Solution" for a high-volume facility in Germany, designed to bridge the gap between heavy-duty molding production and real-time product traceability.
The primary challenge involved the sheer scale of the containers, with dimensions exceeding "300mm x 300mm x 530mm". Standard conveyors simply could not provide the stability or torque required for such massive loads. Our engineering team responded by custom-building an extra-wide, reinforced conveyor system, ensuring smooth, vibration-free transport that maintains labeling alignment even for the largest 50-liter industrial drums.
To meet the client’s stringent data requirements, we integrated a high-performance "Zebra thermal transfer engine" directly into the labeling head. This allows for the instant printing of variable QR codes, dynamic barcodes, and safety text as each container moves through the line. The customized software interface provides the flexibility to adjust printing content on the fly, a critical feature for chemical manufacturers who must comply with evolving GHS (Globally Harmonized System) labeling regulations.A standout feature of this project was its "direct integration with the molding production line". Rather than operating as a standalone unit, the SKYONE system was engineered to sync perfectly with the upstream molding exit speeds. By designing a custom bridge and logic handshake between the molders and the labeler, we eliminated the need for manual buffer zones, creating a truly continuous, "lights-out" manufacturing workflow.Durability was a non-negotiable factor for the daily chemical and food environments of this German client. The entire chassis was constructed from heavy-gauge "SUS304 stainless steel", providing the structural integrity needed to support the high-torque drives and the weight of oversized products. This industrial-grade build ensures that the system maintains its ±1.5mm precision during long-duration shifts in harsh production atmospheres.By combining massive hardware capabilities with the precision of Zebra’s printing technology, SKYONECO proved that even the largest industrial packaging can be labeled with the same intelligence and accuracy as small consumer goods.
